About Vietnamese dong
Both North Vietnam and South Vietnam used their own version of the dong as the main unit of currency. When the country was reunified in the mid-1970s, their monetary systems also merged to form the Vietnamese dong as its unit of currency. Coins are nearly a thing of the past in Vietnam, with most shops refusing to accept them.
