About Philippine Pesos
The Philippine Peso (PHP) is the official currency of the Philippines. The Spanish first brought coins to the country during the 16th century, replacing a system based on bartering. The currency has been through many changes over the years, but the creation of the Central Bank of the Philippines in 1949 led to a formal currency being created.
