Sending money to Israel from the US is quick and secure. Here’s how:
Find your nearest store
Provide the recipient details
Choose Ria or Western Union to deliver your money transfer
Select cash pick-up or bank deposit delivery option
Pay the fee* + transfer amount and present your valid photo ID, if required
For Ria: The recipient will need the PIN and valid photo ID
For Western Union: Tell the recipient the 10-digit Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) and the amount – they’ll also need photo ID.
About Israeli New Shekel
The new shekel has been the official currency of Israel since it replaced the old shekel in 1986. One shekel is divided into 100 agora – and banknotes usually come in denominations of 20, 50, 100 and 200 shekels. The new shekel is also used in the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
