The company was founded in 1931 in California. As Nevada grew so did the company’s chance to expand, and during the 1950 Southwest Gas began providing utilities to the growing towns of Las Vegas and Henderson. During the late 1970s Southwest grew further by acquiring smaller companies and supplying to the Phoenix, Arizona area.
Southwest Gas now supplies nearly 2 million customers in Arizona, California and Nevada.
