About

Puget Sound Energy formed in 1997 after the merger between Puget Sound Power & Light and the Washington Energy Company. However, the company’s oldest predecessor dates back to 1873, when the Seattle Gas Light Company began its operations in the region. Today, Puget Sound Energy supplies electricity and gas to around 2 million customers across a 6,000 square-mile service area in the Northwest US. The company is also one of the US’s leading developers of wind power, and promotes solar power and other renewable resources.
